Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for advising clients on complex spatial analysis solutions using Esri technology, demonstrating the value of GIS, and supporting sales and technical implementation efforts within local government contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate the value of Esri technology.
- Build relationships with clients and support sales strategies through presentations and demonstrations.
- Become a subject matter expert in local government GIS applications and ArcGIS technology.
- Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions that address customer challenges and align with their business needs.
- Design and deliver technical presentations and demonstrations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- At least 1 year of experience working in local government
- Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
- Understanding of sales and business development processes
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Ability to present technical demonstrations of proposed solutions to customers and design presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to support selling Esri software and solutions as part of an account team
- Ability to proactively craft and propose solutions that demonstrate how GIS brings business value to customers
- Ability to define and deliver strategies to customers that align Esri technology with their business needs
- Ability to speak confidently with customers about Esri technologies and thoroughly communicate the Esri message
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50% of the time
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
