Job Description
A mid-level Software Engineer at EnergyHub is responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-based energy management systems, contributing to all parts of the tech stack, and working on demand response services to help utilities create a sustainable energy future.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to all parts of the software stack, including distributed services, queuing, and data layers.
- Expand and improve the cloud-based, mission-critical 24x7 production system with high uptime requirements.
- Create architecture and design documents, write, test, and review code.
- Develop next-generation demand response and energy efficiency services for utilities.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure seamless integration with partners.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years professional software engineering experience, preferably in a small to medium-sized team.
- Experience with Java, preferably Java 11.
- Strong experience in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and core engineering design patterns and principles.
- Experience with testing methodologies.
- Experience developing Web services and RESTful APIs using Spring.
- Ability to create architecture and design documents, write, test, and review code.
- Experience working on mission-critical, 24x7 cloud-based production systems with stringent uptime requirements.
- Proficiency in contributing to all parts of the software stack, including distributed services, queuing, and data layers.
- Strong understanding of information security concepts such as PKI, TLS, OAuth, SSO, and penetration testing.
- Experience with automated testing, continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring systems.
- Experience with database and data processing pipelines, specifically with RabbitMQ, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, and S3.
