Job Description
The position involves leading financial planning, analysis, and forecasting activities for a growing energy solutions company, supporting strategic decision-making, managing budgets and financial models, and supervising a team of finance professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial summaries including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Lead the creation of financial pro forma models for projects, capital expenditures, and new business initiatives.
- Provide financial analysis and guidance to support strategic decision-making across departments.
- Collaborate with departments to gather financial data and present risks, opportunities, and recommendations to senior management.
- Supervise, develop, and motivate a team of finance professionals.
- Partner with senior leadership on cash management, profitability, and financial planning issues.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial planning and forecasting processes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years experience in Financial Planning positions of increasing responsibility.
- BS BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
- Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience with financial statement analysis, financial metrics and understanding basic GAAP accounting principles.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Excel.
- Proven track record of demonstrating intellectual curiosity, problem solving, business acumen and enthusiasm.
- Hands-on manager with the ability to proactively respond to requests while ensuring all deliverables are met on time.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across teams, functions and departments.
- Ability to work well with a team and also thrive independently.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets, forecasts, financial summaries, and financial pro forma models including project profitability, capital expenditures, cash flows, and new business models.
- Experience in collecting and analyzing key data to support strategic decision making and overall company mission.
- Experience in managing and leading the development of pro forma analysis and profitability templates for projects and capital expenditures.
- Experience in designing and driving detailed financial analysis and making recommendations to support decision making and strategy.
- Experience in supervising, developing, and motivating a small team of finance professionals.
- Ability to design and improve financial planning and forecasting processes to support high growth and ensure controls and structure.
- Knowledge of administrative, energy, or utility business models is desirable.
- Experience with or knowledge of energy conservation programs, alternative energy, or utility markets is desirable.
- Experience with overseas operations or international markets is helpful.
- Willingness to work remotely with flexibility for in-office attendance within 40 miles of an office location (excluding certain states).
