Job Description

The Associate Director at E3 leads client-facing projects in the energy consulting sector, providing strategic guidance, managing workstreams, and contributing to reports and presentations to support clean energy policies and market development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client-facing interactions and project approach development for medium-to-large projects
  • Direct workstreams within projects and contribute to written reports and papers
  • Deliver presentations, summarize findings, and respond to client questions
  • Oversee investigative tasks, manage existing tools, and lead proposal writing efforts

Requirements

  • Possess a deep subject matter expertise and strong technical aptitude in energy policy, regulation, markets, or related fields.
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and the ability to independently create and actualize work plans that are efficient while delivering high-quality guidance to clients.
  • Have additional years of experience supporting significant business development upon hiring, with a demonstrated ability to contribute to the growth of the company's business.
  • Experience in managing, shaping, and developing a practice area within an energy consulting or related organization.
  • Proven ability to lead client-facing interactions, identify approaches and methods for medium-to-large sized projects, and contribute heavily to written reports and papers.
  • Ability to deliver findings and summaries to customers through presentations and respond to questions effectively.
  • Experience overseeing the management of existing tools and leading efforts on proposal writing.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a hybrid and flexible work environment, including working from the office at least 2-3 days per week, usually including Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Ability to work for extended hours in front of a computer screen and conduct meetings on the telephone and virtually.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, up to 10 times per year, to client sites within the United States and/or Canada.
