The role involves leading origination and execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions in the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar and storage projects, to support the company's strategic growth and energy transition initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate project, portfolio, and platform acquisition targets in the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar and battery storage.
Manage acquisition and sale processes from valuation and risk analysis to negotiations, documentation, and closing.
Develop financial models and perform valuation and sensitivity analysis for transactions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on due diligence, including development, legal, and structured finance tax.
Support development of long-term relationships and channel partnerships.
Lead market intelligence efforts and prepare industry trend reports and competitive analyses.
Improve origination processes through pipeline management, screening tools, and data analytics.
Mentor and guide junior team members and support team leadership in transaction execution.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BA or BS); MBA or other quantitative graduate degrees are welcome
At least 5 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in the renewable energy industry
Experience in investment banking, principal investing, or corporate M A is strongly preferred
In-depth understanding of renewable energy project financing concepts, including tax equity
Solid transaction execution and negotiation experience, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines
Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including developing financial models and sensitivity scenarios
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
Ability to work well with multiple teams cross-functionally and in offices across the U.S.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Unimpeachable ethics and integrity
Leadership ability and a passion for providing mentorship, guidance, and training to junior colleagues
Location preference for one of the company's office locations in New York City, NY; Washington DC; or San Francisco, CA, with a hybrid schedule of three days in-office per week
