Job Description
The role involves leading origination and execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions in the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar and storage projects, to support the company's strategic growth and energy transition initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate project, portfolio, and platform acquisition targets in the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar and battery storage.
- Manage acquisition and sale processes from valuation and risk analysis to negotiations, documentation, and closing.
- Develop financial models and perform valuation and sensitivity analysis for transactions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on due diligence, including development, legal, and structured finance tax.
- Support development of long-term relationships and channel partnerships.
- Lead market intelligence efforts and prepare industry trend reports and competitive analyses.
- Improve origination processes through pipeline management, screening tools, and data analytics.
- Mentor and guide junior team members and support team leadership in transaction execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BA or BS); MBA or other quantitative graduate degrees are welcome
- At least 5 years of relevant finance experience, preferably in the renewable energy industry
- Experience in investment banking, principal investing, or corporate M A is strongly preferred
- In-depth understanding of renewable energy project financing concepts, including tax equity
- Solid transaction execution and negotiation experience, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills, including developing financial models and sensitivity scenarios
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and accountability
- Ability to work well with multiple teams cross-functionally and in offices across the U.S.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Unimpeachable ethics and integrity
- Leadership ability and a passion for providing mentorship, guidance, and training to junior colleagues
- Location preference for one of the company's office locations in New York City, NY; Washington DC; or San Francisco, CA, with a hybrid schedule of three days in-office per week
