The position involves monitoring and operating utility-scale solar and storage facilities, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance through real-time oversight, troubleshooting, and coordination with field technicians and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the monitoring and day-to-day operation of utility-scale PV storage facilities.
Assist in supervising and training control center staff responsible for 24/7 solar facility operations.
Coordinate staff to ensure proper execution of operational responsibilities and company objectives.
Respond to alerts and abnormal conditions through remote operations and notify relevant parties.
Act as a point of contact for field technicians, remote plant operators, utilities, and other operators regarding performance and control issues.
Maintain facility availability and follow curtailment directives.
Perform daily performance reporting and analyze data for underperforming systems.
Support troubleshooting and dispatch of field technicians for system issues.
Requirements
A minimum of an Associate's Degree (A.S.) or Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in a technical field of study.
Knowledge of power generation design or operations.
Knowledge of ERCOT Interconnection and ERCOT Trading.
Knowledge of photovoltaic (PV) systems, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring.
Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found via DAS (Data Acquisition System).
Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) platform, preferably for operations and maintenance of power generation facilities.
Experience working with DAS (Data Acquisition System).
Work is to be performed in an office environment, with an expected workload of 40 hours per week, including 4 days of 10-hour shifts per week, including weekends, and occasional night shifts once a quarter.
Valid Driver’s License.
Available to report for full-time work at the Control Center located at the company's Durham office.
