Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing financial data, preparing financial statements, supporting internal controls, and ensuring accurate accounting for solar renewable energy projects, primarily focusing on utility-scale solar ownership structures and collaborating with various internal teams and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes following internal control procedures.
- Perform analytical functions to ensure accurate and timely general ledger month-end close.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports for solar projects.
- Assist with technical accounting research and compliance with reporting rules.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors during audits and financial reporting.
- Provide accurate general ledger account coding for utility-scale solar projects.
- Support the financial reporting and performance analysis of solar projects for management.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and special assignments related to accounting and financial reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in general accounting.
- Knowledge of the ERP accounting system.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Practical understanding and application of internal control processes and procedures over financial accounting and reporting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including performing financial and analytical computations in Excel.
- Detail-oriented and adaptable to changing working requirements.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- Perform all aspects of work with a high degree of accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
