Job Description
The Senior Accountant will manage financial data, perform account reconciliations, support financial reporting for solar energy projects, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, primarily focusing on utility-scale solar ownership structures and related internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes following internal control procedures.
- Perform financial analysis and prepare financial statements for solar projects in accordance with GAAP.
- Support internal controls and maintain documentation to substantiate financial assertions.
- Assist with account reconciliations and general ledger account coding for utility-scale solar projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare and support external audits and financial reporting requirements.
- Research technical accounting and reporting issues in collaboration with accounting professionals.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Support the preparation of tax-related financial data and assist with income tax filings as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in general accounting.
- Knowledge of the ERP accounting system.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Practical understanding and application of internal control processes and procedures over financial accounting and reporting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including performing financial and analytical computations in Excel.
- Detail-oriented and adaptable to changing working requirements.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- Perform all aspects of work with a high degree of accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
