Job Description
The Business Development Intern will support the growth of Clearway's renewable energy projects through financial analysis, market research, due diligence, and project development activities, gaining hands-on experience in the clean energy industry within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing renewable energy projects using financial modeling tools.
- Collaborate with teams on due diligence and refining project financial inputs.
- Support preparation of memos, presentations, and RFP submissions for project development and negotiations.
- Create and manage tools to monitor market activity and identify new growth opportunities and M&A targets.
- Contribute to ongoing commercialization of utility-scale solar, storage, and wind assets.
- Complete a special market analysis project and present findings to leadership.
Requirements
- Interest and fundamental knowledge in renewable energy, cleantech, power markets, or infrastructure finance.
- Knowledge of the energy industry including regulated and de-regulated electricity markets and project financing structures and key value drivers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.
- Interest in renewable energy and a desire to help create a clean energy future.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the willingness to ask questions, listen to colleagues, and contribute ideas.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and accountable, demonstrating the ability to show up, be present, and eager to dive into the workday.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of projects and assignments.
- Willingness to ask questions and speak up when tasks are completed and additional work is available.
- Enrollment as an undergraduate junior or rising senior in a relevant field such as Business, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or Computer Science.
- Availability to participate in a 10-week Summer Internship Program beginning on June 1, 2026, and ending on August 7, 2026.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid role based in the San Francisco office, with in-office days on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- No sponsorship for nonimmigrant visas (H-1B, TN, E-3, J-1, etc.) or assistance with immigration benefits such as OPT or CPT.
