Job Description
A Mechanical Engineer II at Charm Industrial is responsible for designing, testing, troubleshooting, and improving process equipment related to underground bio-oil injection operations, working closely with operations teams to solve production challenges and implement robust mechanical solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, test, implement, troubleshoot, and improve process equipment related to injection operations
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to solve production bottlenecks
- Conduct fieldwork to understand processes and develop creative solutions for operational challenges
- Develop and bring new mechanical designs to life, including testing and commissioning equipment
- Perform root cause analysis on system performance issues and implement corrective actions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automation, Controls, or a related field.
- Experience in designing, testing, implementing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving process equipment in a production environment.
- Ability to work alongside engineering resources and injection operations team members to solve pressing problems.
- Experience in fieldwork with operators to understand processes and implement creative solutions.
- Proficiency in bringing new designs to life, testing, and commissioning new equipment.
- Ability to deliver robust mechanical solutions that function effectively in real-world conditions.
- Strong root cause analysis skills for systems not performing as intended.
- Analytical problem-solving approach and willingness to step out of comfort zone when tackling new problems.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, challenging environments with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to participate in troubleshooting and continuous improvement of process equipment.
- Experience with process safety principles related to chemical and mechanical engineering processes.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross-disciplinary teams including injection operations and engineering staff.
