The Land Acquisition Manager is responsible for securing land, subsurface rights, and biomass feedstocks to support Charm's carbon removal projects, involving deal sourcing, negotiation, and coordination across multiple teams and geographies to enable large-scale bio-oil injection operations.
Key Responsibilities
Secure surface access, subsurface pore space, wells, and biomass feedstocks for project development and operations
Negotiate, source, and contract land deals across multiple geographies
Coordinate with internal teams on land and project permitting processes
Manage long-term control of land and subsurface rights to enable project scalability
Identify and unlock new project sites through early diligence and ongoing land management
Requirements
Experience in securing surface access, subsurface pore space, wells, and sustainable biomass feedstocks for project development, permitting, and operations.
Ability to own the commercial execution needed to secure land rights and facilitate project development, permitting, and operations.
Experience operating at the intersection of land, agriculture, forestry, oil and gas, and carbon regulation.
Ability to operate with significant autonomy across multiple geographies.
Willingness to travel frequently to project sites and rural communities.
Ability to work onsite in a hybrid capacity when not traveling.
Experience in early-stage deal sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and coordination across multiple internal teams.
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer or equivalent role.
Ability to unlock new project sites from early diligence through long-term operation.
Experience in project development, permitting, and operations related to land and subsurface rights.
Experience in negotiating and contracting land and subsurface rights for project purposes.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with significant autonomy.
