The Land Acquisition Manager is responsible for securing land, subsurface rights, and biomass feedstocks to support Charm's carbon removal projects, involving deal sourcing, negotiations, and coordination across multiple teams to enable large-scale bio-oil injection operations.
Key Responsibilities
Secure surface access, subsurface pore space, wells, and biomass feedstocks for project development and operations
Lead early-stage deal sourcing, negotiation, and contracting related to land and subsurface rights
Coordinate with internal teams to support project permitting and long-term site management
Identify and unlock new project sites through land and resource diligence
Operate with autonomy across multiple geographies and travel frequently to project sites and rural communities
Requirements
Experience in securing surface access, subsurface pore space, wells, and sustainable biomass feedstocks for project development, permitting, and operations.
Ability to operate with significant autonomy across multiple geographies and travel frequently to project sites and rural communities.
Work onsite in a hybrid capacity when not traveling.
Experience in early-stage deal sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and coordination across multiple internal teams.
Strong understanding of land, agriculture, forestry, oil and gas, and carbon regulation related to land acquisition and project development.
Proven track record in owning the commercial execution needed to enable project deployment at scale.
Relevant experience in land acquisition, project permitting, and operations related to bio-oil production, underground storage, or similar fields.
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with a focus on climate-related projects.
Willingness and ability to travel frequently to project sites and rural communities.
