The Senior Associate at CRA's Energy practice conducts research, analysis, and modeling related to utility ratemaking and regulation, providing data-driven insights and strategic advice to clients involved in energy markets, regulatory proceedings, and transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Manage Energy practice teams in regulatory-focused client engagements, including rate cases and regulatory strategy development
Serve as a principal custodian of ratemaking models and act as a subject matter expert on ratemaking issues and regulatory strategy
Conduct research, develop, and analyze industry models, forecasts, and assumptions related to energy regulation and financial performance
Develop presentations and reports to communicate complex findings to clients clearly and accurately
Oversee junior staff in producing reports, presentations, and market analyses
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or Accounting
Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred
At least 5 years of professional experience in an electric and/or natural gas regulatory specialty, including revenue requirements, cost of service, and/or rate design
At least 2 years of professional experience directly managing or leading the work of others
Experience developing, working with, and interpreting complex regulatory and financial models
Knowledge of the FERC Uniform System of Accounts
Excellent presentation skills and writing ability
Strong problem solving abilities and resourcefulness
Ability to work well in a team environment and willingness to provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff members
Experience as an expert witness in regulatory proceedings before state public service commissions and/or FERC is a strong plus
Previous project and client management experience is a strong plus

Compensation/salary range: $115,000 - $220,000 (specific to certain locations)
Work schedule: 3 to 4 days per week in the office, with additional remote work options during certain times of the year
