The role involves providing economic advice on competition policy, mergers, and regulatory issues, analyzing complex cases using advanced economic tools, and working closely with clients, legal teams, and industry experts to support competition proceedings and investigations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide economic advice on competition policy, regulation, mergers, and investigations
Develop and present client deliverables including expert reports and analyses
Design and implement complex economic and financial models to analyze data
Manage research processes and supervise junior analysts
Ensure accuracy and integrity of economic analyses and opinions
Collaborate with academics, attorneys, and clients on economic and strategic issues
Assist in preparing for judicial proceedings and testify as an economic expert
Contribute to recruiting, training, and mentoring colleagues
Requirements
A graduate degree program with strong achievement, specifically a Masters or PhD with focused study in economics or another quantitative discipline
Extensive and relevant experience of 7-11 years, preferably in economics or antitrust consulting
Demonstrated understanding of economic concepts, competition regulatory authorities, and quantitative and qualitative analysis methods
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Experience managing and developing teams of junior colleagues
Executive client presence and interaction skills
Ability to independently conceptualize and identify issues, and design complex economic and financial models to analyze economic and financial data
Experience working with those testifying in judicial proceedings to provide economic analyses of mergers and other competition matters before major competition authorities of the world
Ability to assist in the development and presentation of client deliverables including expert reports summarizing opinions, conclusions, and recommendations
Experience managing the research process, supervising, training, and mentoring junior analysts
Work location flexibility, with the expectation of spending at least 3 to 4 days a week working in the office, including travel to other CRA offices or client meetings
