Job Description
The Consulting Associate at CRA's Forensic Services practice conducts research, analyzes financial data, and supports investigations related to accounting irregularities, fraud, and misconduct, providing data-driven insights and assisting in client presentations within a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in investigating accounting irregularities and responding to allegations of fraud, misconduct, waste, abuse, and non-compliance
- Analyze financial data using accounting and financial concepts
- Leverage database skills to analyze large data sets
- Conceptualize issues, design complex financial models, and oversee analysis creation by junior staff
- Review client documents, analyst reports, and third-party data to summarize key issues
- Support project planning and management, including supervising junior team members
- Interact with clients and assist in presenting findings and recommendations
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of analyses and opinions
- Contribute to practice-wide recruiting and training efforts
Requirements
- 3-5 years of finance or accounting work experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Familiar with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate governance, and regulatory environments
- Experience gathering, standardizing, and analyzing voluminous transactional electronic data
- Skilled in intelligence gathering and data analysis such as querying and mining large data sets to discover transaction patterns, examining financial data and filtering for targeted information
- Demonstrated problem solving and effective oral and written communication skills
- Rigorous organizational skills and attention to detail in all facets of work
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet timely deadlines
- Ability to travel
