Job Description

A Senior Staff Principal Battery Engineer responsible for developing and optimizing large EV lithium-ion battery cells, including process development, product validation, and technical support for next-generation high-energy-density battery technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Design, validate, and analyze lithium-ion battery cells for high energy density EV applications.
Develop and optimize large-scale fabrication processes for next-generation lithium-ion cells.
Provide technical support to project teams for quality issue resolution and process improvements.
Collaborate with R&D, suppliers, and customers on cell development, product design, and performance analysis.
Conduct pilot-scale sample process development and technical analysis for cell engineering projects.

Requirements

Extensive experience in lithium-ion cell product and process development engineering with large cell level for EV battery application, not including material development, module system engineering, or ESS.
Experience in EV battery cell design and development, including technical support for operation and R D teams, with technical cell level analysis.
Experience in pilot scale sample process development and collaboration with R D projects.
Proven track record of success in lithium-ion battery cell development projects for EV applications at a major battery or OEM company.
Proficient in lithium-ion battery cell process for pilot scale and sample fabrication.
Ability to maintain effective technical relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal and external departments.
Willingness to execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Ability to work within project teams and with customers with dedication and technical excellence.
Bachelor's or Master's degree or higher in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
At least 5 years of industrial experience in lithium-ion battery cell development for EV applications.
