This role involves managing billing and customer care services for legal and consulting projects, including preparing invoices, tracking financials, coordinating with project teams, and resolving billing issues in a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and submit accurate client invoices in a timely manner
Coordinate and communicate with project teams, officers, and external parties regarding billing and financial information
Create and distribute weekly financial reports to clients, counsel, and insurance carriers
Manage and monitor project budgets, including entering budget increases and processing external contractor fees
Respond to high-volume internal and external emails related to billing and collections
Resolve billing issues and handle ad hoc billing requests
Review unbilled invoices to ensure timely billing and identify potential issues
Assist with accounts receivable, collections, and cash management activities
Track and collect insurance claim information
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or other related field
2-3 years of experience with time materials management and fixed price billing, including e-billing, ideally in a professional services environment
Hands-on experience with MS Office Word, Excel and Oracle or similar billing system
Ability to work in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented and deadline driven
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Capable of working independently with limited supervision
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with an interest in continuous process improvement
