The IT Business Continuity Coordinator supports the firm's operational resilience by managing IT service continuity and disaster recovery plans, coordinating testing and improvements, and ensuring readiness across enterprise systems and dependencies.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and improve IT service continuity and disaster recovery documentation, including recovery plans and dependencies.
Document, review, and standardize disaster recovery runbooks and recovery sequencing procedures.
Coordinate backup, restore, and data recovery validation activities and evidence collection.
Plan, coordinate, and execute disaster recovery tests and resilience exercises.
Track remediation actions, update plans based on lessons learned, and report on progress and risks.
Support governance reporting related to IT resilience, including plan reviews, testing, and compliance evidence.
Assess and document third-party technology dependencies and contingency plans.
Support incident recovery communications and stakeholder updates during disruptions.
Assist with business impact analysis inputs and coordinate periodic awareness training for non-IT plan owners.
Requirements
Experience supporting IT service continuity and or disaster recovery (DR) for enterprise services and applications, including runbook maintenance and coordinating technical exercises
Working knowledge of resilience concepts and metrics such as RTO (Recovery Time Objective), RPO (Recovery Point Objective), incident change management, and IT service management practices
Ability to coordinate cross-functional IT stakeholders including infrastructure, cloud, network, security, and applications, and manage timelines, communications, and documentation across multiple workstreams
Strong documentation and analytical skills able to produce clear runbooks, test plans, after-action reports, and remediation tracking
Familiarity with core IT platforms and enterprise services such as identity management, networking, virtualization, backups, Windows, Microsoft 365, and cloud SaaS to understand recovery dependencies
Comfort working with risk, compliance, and audit stakeholders, including collecting evidence and supporting control attestations
Experience supporting IT service continuity and or disaster recovery (DR) for enterprise services and applications, including runbook maintenance and coordinating technical exercises
Knowledge of resilience concepts and metrics such as RTO, RPO, incident change management, and IT service management practices
Ability to coordinate cross-functional IT stakeholders including infrastructure, cloud, network, security, and applications, and manage timelines, communications, and documentation across multiple workstreams
Experience with operational resilience activities such as business impact analysis (BIA) inputs, plan owner coordination, and tabletop facilitation (preferred but not mandatory)
Experience supporting backup and restore data recovery readiness, including coordinating evidence and periodic validation activities related to backups, restores, and data recovery procedures
Ability to plan and coordinate disaster recovery (DR) tests and resilience exercises, including scope, schedules, participant communications, success criteria, evidence collection, and after-action reporting
Ability to maintain remediation logs, drive follow-through on action items, and report status and risks to stakeholders, incorporating lessons learned into updated runbooks and plans
Experience supporting IT resilience documentation, including service recovery plans, application recovery procedures, dependencies, and recovery sequencing
Experience assessing IT resilience considerations for key vendors and dependencies such as SaaS, telecom, and data centers, and documenting contingency approaches with service owners
Support coordination of technical recovery status updates and stakeholder communications during disruptions in partnership with IT incident management and leadership
Support business impact analysis inputs, coordinate periodic awareness training for non-IT plan owners, and support business continuity planning activities (limited scope)
Possess a minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience in IT service continuity, disaster recovery, or related resilience activities
Possess a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (implied but not explicitly stated, based on professional standards)
Ability to work in a team environment, coordinate multiple workstreams, and manage documentation and communication effectively
