The Senior Associate at CRA will work on high-profile competition law cases, applying economic analysis, statistical modeling, and research skills to support legal and regulatory proceedings across Europe, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to practice development.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and conceptualize economic issues, developing rigorous models to analyze market data
Supervise, train, and mentor research staff
Develop and present client deliverables such as expert reports and white papers
Act as a primary contact for legal and government clients on practice-relevant issues
Build and program economic models and perform statistical analyses using various software tools
Ensure accuracy and integrity of economic analyses and opinions
Contribute to practice development activities including training, recruiting, and knowledge sharing
Requirements
PhD degree in economics with a completion date of December 2025 Summer 2026 and an academic focus on Applied Microeconomics or Applied Microeconometrics, with specializations like industrial organization, labor, health, behavioural and public economics, or other quantitative areas
Strong knowledge of economic concepts and a range of research and quantitative skills
Experience in programming and data analysis using Excel, Stata, Python, R, SQL, SAS, ArcGIS ArcPy, or Cloud computing platforms such as Databricks Spark, Google Cloud, Azure, or AWS
Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to explain, economic, financial and or accounting concepts, and quantitative and qualitative analysis methods
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Eagerness to learn new skills and programming languages
Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership
Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities
Excellent time management and task prioritization skills
