Job Description
A quantitative research-focused role involving economic and industry analysis, data modeling, and preparing expert reports to support legal, regulatory, and business strategy cases for clients worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct economic and industry research to understand case issues
- Develop financial and economic analyses or valuation models to support case theories
- Build and program models, perform regression analyses using languages such as Excel, Stata, R, Python, SQL, or SAS
- Analyze client materials, including transactional data, financial reports, and industry information
- Review and summarize analyst reports, academic literature, and client documents
- Assist in producing research summaries, expert reports, and visual presentations of findings
- Ensure the reliability of analyses through quality control reviews
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, with graduation expected in December 2025 or Summer 2026, or recent graduates eligible for this position and an earlier start date.
- Completion of an honors thesis, research apprenticeship, or research seminar program is highly desired.
- Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to explain, economic, financial, and/or accounting concepts, and quantitative and qualitative analysis methods.
- Experience in Excel, Stata, Python, R, SQL, SAS, ArcGIS ArcPy, or Cloud computing platforms such as Databricks Spark, Google Cloud, Azure, or AWS.
- Ability to conduct economic and industry research, analyze client materials, and develop financial and economic analyses or valuation models to support case theories.
- Proficiency in programming, building models, and performing regression analyses using languages such as Excel, Stata, R, Python, SQL, or SAS.
- Ability to review and summarize analyst reports, academic literature, client documents, depositions, license agreements, and industry trade press.
- Experience in developing research summaries, expert reports, and presenting findings, including creating visuals like tables and charts.
- Ability to ensure the reliability of analysis through quality control review.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Curious and analytical mindset with the ability to bring creative approaches to non-standard problems.
- Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
- Excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
