Job Description
This role involves conducting economic, financial, and industry research, analyzing financial data, building valuation models, and providing expert testimony or consulting services related to litigation, regulatory issues, and business strategy for clients in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct economic and industry research to understand case issues
- Develop financial and economic analyses or valuation models to support case theories
- Perform regression analyses and build models using languages such as Excel, Stata, R, Python, SQL, or SAS
- Investigate accounting irregularities and respond to allegations of fraud, misconduct, waste, and abuse
- Analyze financial data, including financial models, for litigation and expert reports
- Examine financial records and transactions to identify trends and anomalies
- Leverage database skills to analyze large data sets
- Communicate findings to team members, clients, and other professionals
- Assist in drafting written reports summarizing procedures and findings
Requirements
- Candidates must be Bachelor’s or Master’s degree candidates graduating in December 2025 or Summer 2026 with an academic focus in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Candidates must have a solid working knowledge of finance, accounting, and economic methodologies.
- Candidates must have command of a broad range of research and quantitative analysis skills including strong Excel skills.
- Candidates must have familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate governance, and regulatory environments.
- Candidates must have experience in gathering, standardizing, and analyzing voluminous transactional data.
- Candidates must have experience in data analysis and intelligence gathering, including querying and mining large data sets to discover transaction patterns, examining financial data, and filtering for targeted information.
- Candidates must be curious and analytical thinkers who bring creative approaches to non-standard problems.
- Candidates must have effective written and oral communication skills.
- Candidates must demonstrate a high level of initiative and leadership.
- Candidates must have strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities.
- Candidates must have excellent time management and task prioritization skills.
- Candidates must have a clear and demonstrated interest in consulting through coursework, work experience, activities, or attendance at CRA recruiting events.
- Candidates must be graduating from a bachelor’s or master’s degree program to be eligible for this role; if from an MBA, PhD, or with work experience, they should refer to current open roles on the Careers site.
