Job Description
A Software Engineer at Celonis is responsible for developing and optimizing frontend systems, implementing robust testing frameworks, and ensuring efficient software deployment processes within a cloud SaaS environment, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve application quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and drive a consistent approach for building and deploying software, including standardizing tool sets for measurement and reporting.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve application quality and release performance through early feedback and continuous improvement.
- Integrate advanced software engineering practices and tooling into the development and deployment processes.
- Ensure end-to-end system optimization through performance benchmarking, standardization, testing, and monitoring.
- Build and evolve the Playwright UI testing framework for functional, performance, and accessibility tests.
- Mentor engineering teams on test infrastructure usage and contribution.
- Identify build and stability issues through design reviews and infrastructure sanity checks.
- Analyze release issues to identify root causes and propose solutions.
Requirements
- 4 years experience as a software engineer on cloud SaaS platforms
- Deep knowledge of build infrastructure, CI pipelines, monitoring and analysis of various frontend functional tests
- Expertise in Playwright and its infrastructure, as well as running large scale UI tests in parallel across shared resources
- Working knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, shell scripting, and Java
- Experience with Github, nx, Sonarcloud, Datadog, AWS, and Azure
- Joy of doing root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and solving build infrastructure problems
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate independently as part of the 1FE Team to ensure end-to-end system optimization through performance benchmarking, standardization, continuous testing, and monitoring
- Ability to develop and evolve Playwright UI testing framework and infrastructure for functional, performance, and accessibility tests in a self-service manner
- Mentor engineering teams to use and contribute to the test infrastructure
- Analyze release issues to understand the root cause of bottlenecks and propose solutions
