Job Description
A senior data engineer role focused on designing, building, and operating scalable and reliable data services and infrastructure within a cloud-native environment, collaborating with development teams to optimize data systems and ensure high performance and availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate core data services such as databases, messaging systems, and storage services at scale
- Develop and enhance observability tools to monitor data service performance and usage
- Collaborate with development teams to define requirements and deliver effective, cost-efficient data solutions
- Own and execute technical projects to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of data infrastructure
- Provide expertise and guidance on best practices for distributed data systems and cloud-native technologies
Requirements
- 6 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and operating distributed data systems at scale, such as databases, messaging systems, or Object Storage.
- Essential hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, particularly in building, testing, and deploying through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Crossplane.
- Deep understanding of system performance tuning, observability, and reliability engineering principles, including Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices for high-throughput systems.
- Solid programming or scripting skills for automation and infrastructure management, specifically in languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
- Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
