Job Description
The role involves designing, building, and operating scalable data services and infrastructure, including databases and messaging systems, to support Celonis's cloud products. It requires collaboration with development teams to ensure reliable, efficient, and cloud-native data solutions at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate core data services such as databases, messaging systems, and storage services at scale
- Develop and enhance observability tools to monitor data service performance and consumption
- Collaborate with development teams to define requirements and deliver robust, cost-effective data solutions
- Own and execute technical projects to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of data infrastructure
- Provide expertise and guidance on designing and operating distributed data systems at scale
Requirements
- 6 years of hands-on experience designing, building, and operating distributed data systems at scale, such as databases, messaging systems, or Object Storage
- Essential hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies, particularly in building, testing, and deploying through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Crossplane
- Deep understanding of system performance tuning, observability, and reliability engineering principles (SRE) for high-throughput systems
- Solid programming or scripting skills for automation and infrastructure management, specifically in Python, Go, or Bash
- Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and a passion for mentoring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
