Job Description
A Senior Backend Developer role focused on designing and building high-performance, cloud-native data processing systems using big data technologies, to support Celonis's process intelligence platform and enable scalable enterprise data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance systems to manage large data requests
- Develop and deploy features and algorithms to enhance data platform efficiency and performance
- Mentor and collaborate with team members to promote best practices and code quality
- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Document development procedures, concepts, and knowledge related to data processing systems
- Build, launch, and maintain features in production environments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; a Master's degree or Ph.D. is preferred
- At least 3 years of hands-on software engineering experience
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools including Spark, Presto Trino, Starrocks, Iceberg
- Experience with performance tuning of data platforms
- Ability to design and implement critical high-performance systems to handle increasing request rates on backend infrastructure
- Knowledge of best practices in database usage and end-to-end architecture
- Ability to develop and implement new features and algorithms to improve efficiency and performance of core data platforms
- Experience managing individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Ability to write clean, understandable, and testable code
- Experience mentoring and growing teammates
- Ability to recognize and take action to improve the developer work environment
- Experience documenting development procedures, concepts, and knowledge
- Ability to build, launch, and maintain features in production environments
Benefits & Perks
Base salary range: $166,000 - $204,000 USD (for New York location)
