This role is a Technical Leader in architecture or engineering responsible for overseeing project quality, developing quality processes, mentoring staff, and providing technical guidance across large institutional and commercial projects, with a focus on continuous improvement and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and monitor integrated quality review processes across projects and disciplines.
Collaborate with project leadership to schedule and coordinate quality reviews and staffing.
Develop and update project Risk Assessments and Quality Plans.
Participate in technical leadership meetings to improve quality resources and initiatives.
Support project teams in decision-making and developing innovative, technically sound design solutions.
Lead the creation of office-specific quality strategies and quality plans.
Contribute to the development and review of quality assurance, construction administration, and specification processes.
Monitor office project metrics to ensure success and adherence to quality standards.
Implement firm construction administration policies and standards within the office.
Engage in strategic quality reviews during project phases and mentor senior project staff.
Establish strategies for capturing and sharing institutional knowledge within the firm.
Write technical articles on quality subjects for internal or external publication.
Evaluate and guide the adoption of new building technologies, methods, and materials.
Lead ongoing mentoring and training to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
Minimum 15 years of related professional experience in Architecture and/or Engineering.
Experience includes at least 5 years in increasingly responsible roles in construction documentation on institutional and/or commercial projects.
At least 3 years of experience in a responsible role in construction administration on large institutional and/or commercial projects.
Current Architectural Registration or Professional Engineer license in the United States required.
Extensive experience designing, documenting, coordinating, and administering the construction of significant healthcare, higher education, sports, and/or civic projects.
Expertise in healthcare, higher education, sports, and/or civic codes, standards, and familiarity with proven solutions to address conflicting requirements between building authorities, client needs, construction technologies, and insurance provisions.
Demonstrated focus on quality.
Strong technical leadership with knowledge of building codes and requirements.
Ability to be client facing with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong business acumen, technical knowledge, coordination skills, and the ability to build rapport with the project team.
Advanced understanding of REVIT and BIM workflows.
Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Teams, and construction management software.
