Job Description
This role involves managing sustainable design strategies for building projects, guiding the certification process (primarily LEED), conducting energy and life cycle analyses, and collaborating with design teams and stakeholders to improve health, wellness, and environmental performance of institutional and commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and facilitate sustainable design strategies for multiple building projects.
- Coordinate documentation for rating systems like LEED.
- Guide sustainable design processes through workshops, charrettes, and stakeholder engagement.
- Research materials and systems to improve health and wellness in projects.
- Perform building energy and life cycle analysis.
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions and document construction for LEED and other standards.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Environmental Design preferred.
- LEED AP BD C certification required.
- 4 years of relevant experience required.
- Experience in managing and facilitating sustainable design strategies for multiple institutional and commercial building design and construction projects.
- Experience in managing the documentation process for rating systems and standards, primarily LEED.
- Ability to guide the sustainable design process through workshops, design charrettes, stakeholder engagement, etc.
- Experience in researching materials, systems, and approaches to improve the health and wellness of projects.
- Ability to perform building energy and life cycle analysis.
- Experience with visiting job sites to verify conditions and document construction for LEED requirements, including physical site walk-throughs.
- Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in energy analysis software such as eQUEST and Energy Plus preferred.
- Experience with life cycle assessment tools such as Tally, One-Click LCA, or Athena preferred.
