The digital technology manager at CannonDesign is responsible for developing and leading digital strategies for large projects, ensuring effective use of BIM, VDC, and data management tools throughout project phases, while providing technical leadership, coordination, and mentorship to project teams.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with project teams to develop and lead digital strategies including BIM, VDC, and data management from pursuit through delivery.
Oversee the development, review, and management of contractual and digital deliverables such as BIM Execution Plans.
Identify, define, and manage project digital requirements, workflows, and data exchange protocols.
Establish and oversee model management frameworks, including audits, performance metrics, and consistency across teams.
Lead digital coordination meetings, clash detection, and digitally enabled design reviews with clients and consultants.
Manage software lifecycle, file version control, and interoperability strategies within project teams.
Onboard and train team members on digital workflows, collaboration platforms, and firm standards.
Collaborate with Design Technology team to implement best practices, scalable workflows, and evaluate new digital tools.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture, Engineering, Design Technology, or related field required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the digital realm of the A E C industry with a solid understanding of project phases from design through construction close out required.
Prior experience in BIM management, VDC coordination, etc. for large programs or projects is preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Experience training others in the design, delivery, and use of BIM.
Strong leadership skills and client engagement capabilities.
Knowledge of design software and comfort with testing and adopting new technology.
Strong technical knowledge of model authoring tools like Revit, analysis tools like Insight 360, Dynamo, and review tools like Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revizto, Enscape, and other Design Applications.
Knowledge of the Revit API is preferred but not required.
