This role involves leading the development, quality oversight, and coordination of technical documentation for large, complex education projects, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and guiding project teams through quality processes from design to construction completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, assembly, and quality oversight of technical documentation for large or multiple projects.
Manage and monitor the integrated quality review processes across all disciplines.
Coordinate project staffing and schedule quality reviews for all disciplines.
Guide the development and updates of the Project Quality Plan and ensure compliance with technical standards.
Review and oversee the planning of each phase's drawing document deliverables and ensure adherence to firm standards.
Collaborate with project leadership to address quality issues and resolve technical challenges early.
Guide the team in developing coordinated technical solutions across project phases.
Support project team decision-making and assist in developing innovative, technically sound design solutions.
Monitor discipline coordination, project metrics, and risk factors to identify potential issues early.
Ensure compliance with building codes, Life Safety, and energy standards through review and guidance.
Manage and record phase quality reviews and coordinate with project reviewers.
Mentor project staff to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor degree in a relevant field required.
Minimum 12 years of related professional experience.
Experience includes 5 years in increasingly responsible roles in construction documentation on education projects.
At least 3 years in a responsible role in construction administration on large education projects.
Experience leading all technical aspects with production teams on large, complex projects of more than 200 million dollars in construction costs.
Must have experience designing, documenting, coordinating, and administering the construction of significant education projects.
Expertise in education market codes, standards, and familiarity with proven solutions to address conflicting requirements between building authorities, client needs, construction technologies, and insurance provisions.
Current Architectural Registration in the United States.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Must be able to lead large, complex, or multiple projects.
Must have strong subject matter expertise.
Must possess strong business acumen.
Demonstrated focus on quality.
Strong technical leadership with knowledge of building codes and requirements.
Must have the ability to be client facing with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong coordination skills and the ability to build rapport with the project team and client.
Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
