This position involves supporting the design and modeling of plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems within a multidisciplinary engineering team, including tasks such as system design, BIM modeling, review of submittals, and site visits, under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Perform uncomplicated designs of piping, controls, and equipment selection for Plumbing Fire Protection systems under supervision
Assist with HVAC system designs as needed
Model plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems in Revit BIM from schematic to construction phases
Coordinate with specifications as part of the design team
Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date
Knowledge and ability to apply principles and theories of advanced heat transfer, solar energy, and advanced fluid dynamics in the design of plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems
Related student internship work experience preferred
EIT (Engineer in Training) or LEED accreditation preferred
Must have strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus preferred
