This role involves leading large health projects by providing technical expertise, developing planning concepts, managing project documentation, and mentoring team members, while also engaging in business development and maintaining client relationships within a collaborative architectural or design firm.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage internal Subject Matter Expert teams on large health projects.
Collaborate with project teams to provide technical expertise in programming and planning.
Lead user group meetings to gather and refine program needs and assess space utilization.
Communicate planning concepts to clients, designers, and project teams through reports and presentations.
Develop, review, and modify planning concepts, architectural drawings, and project documentation.
Develop project scope, plans, and services during the contract process.
Build and maintain relationships with clients to support business growth.
Train project planners and advance subject matter expertise.
Participate in marketing and business development activities to generate signed fees.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or a related degree
Minimum of 15 years of related experience
Previous experience performing as a subject matter expert on projects ranging from large, or multiple projects for the health market
Experience leading project planning teams
Strong client leadership skills
Experience developing, modifying, and reviewing planning concepts and solutions
Experience developing architectural drawings and specifications to translate planning concepts into project documentation for construction
Ability to develop project scope, plan, and services during the contract process
Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with existing and potential clients
Ability to train project planners
Publication or presentation of at least 2 papers or presentations annually
Ability to achieve sustainability and project profitability goals
Billable project utilization of at least 65%
Marketing utilization of at least 25%
Knowledge of building codes and requirements
Advanced knowledge in the discipline
Strong business acumen
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong technical knowledge, coordination skills, and ability to build rapport with project team and clients
Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam software
