The role involves leading construction administration efforts for large-scale projects, overseeing contract management, quality and cost control, coordinating with project teams and clients, and ensuring successful project delivery from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate construction administration efforts for large-scale projects, ensuring quality and cost control from start to finish.
Act as the primary liaison between builder, client owner, and design teams.
Develop, maintain, and oversee the project Risk Assessment process during Construction Administration.
Identify, communicate, mitigate, and resolve project-related issues on-site and during meetings.
Manage and assign team members to various scopes of Construction Administration tasks.
Review and interpret construction documents, field conditions, and coordinate work with consultants and the project team.
Monitor and resolve issues arising on the jobsite, including contract changes and field conditions.
Track project changes, costs, and maintain related logs.
Review, process, and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Submittals.
Review and approve change proposals, construction progress, and payment applications.
Conduct periodic QA/QC site visits and prepare reports.
Lead the preparation of Certification of Substantial Completion.
Ensure adherence to on-site procedures, safety programs, and work rules.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field required.
Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the construction administration required.
Institutional and/or commercial project experience for at least the last 5 years required.
Healthcare and Education Project experience strongly preferred.
Registration or Licensure preferred.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Technical knowledge, coordination skills and the ability to build a rapport with the project team is essential.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam is required.
Familiarity with the operation of construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or Fieldwire is required.
Ability to work under the supervision of a Licensed Architect when required.
Willingness to travel as required.
