This role involves writing and managing technical specifications for complex architectural projects across various building types, collaborating with project teams, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting sustainable design initiatives within a dynamic architecture and engineering firm.
Key Responsibilities
Write specifications for complex projects across various building types, ensuring technical accuracy and completeness.
Produce Project Manuals and architectural sections, coordinating with project teams and disciplines.
Review and revise project-specific Keynotes and technical specifications during design and construction phases.
Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and deliverables across different project delivery methods.
Collaborate with peers to develop best practices, share knowledge, and improve specification content.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and industry resources to support project specifications.
Assist during Construction Administration with shop drawing and product substitution reviews.
Educate and mentor less experienced staff on specification content and industry standards.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or a relevant field required.
A minimum of 6 years of related experience in the architecture, engineering or construction industry, of which at least 3 years must be experience in specifications writing.
Knowledge of building codes and construction techniques is required.
Understanding of Contracts and relationship to Division 00 01 is required.
Ability to perform Coordination QA QC across disciplines is required.
Must possess business acumen, be a critical thinker and highly analytical.
Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, collaboration and conflict resolution skills.
Proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams, MS One Note, and BlueBeam Revu is required.
Familiarity with specification editing software is required.
Proficiency in e-SPECS for Revit is preferred.
