Job Description
This position involves developing technical specifications and project manuals for various building types within the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, supporting project teams, coordinating with disciplines, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. It requires experience in specifications writing, knowledge of construction methods, and collaboration with vendors and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Write specifications for complex projects across various building types using specification editing software.
- Support the development and coordination of Project Manuals, including architectural sections and custom inclusions.
- Review and revise project-specific keynotes and ensure technical specifications are complete and coordinated with drawings.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of master specifications based on project feedback.
- Assist during Construction Administration (CA) phase with shop drawing reviews and product substitutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree required in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience in the architecture, engineering or construction industry, of which at least 1 year must be experience in specifications writing.
- Basic knowledge of building codes and construction techniques is required.
- Familiarity with Contracts and relationship to Division 00 01 is required.
- Solid technical knowledge is expected.
- Ability to support Coordination QA QC across disciplines.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams, MS One Note, and BlueBeam Revu is required.
- Experience with specification editing software is required.
- Familiarity with e-SPECS for Revit is a plus.
