Job Description
This role involves developing and editing construction specifications for diverse building projects, supporting project teams, coordinating with disciplines, and ensuring technical accuracy, primarily within an architectural or engineering firm setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Write specifications for complex projects across various building types using specification editing software.
- Support the development and coordination of Project Manuals and architectural sections with the project team.
- Review and revise project-specific keynotes and ensure technical specifications are complete and coordinated with drawings.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of master specifications based on project feedback.
- Assist during Construction Administration (CA) phase with shop drawing reviews and product substitutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree required; Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience in the architecture, engineering or construction industry, including at least 1 year of specifications writing experience.
- Basic knowledge of building codes and construction techniques.
- Familiarity with Contracts and relationship to Division 00 01.
- Solid technical knowledge in the field.
- Ability to support Coordination QA QC across disciplines.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, collaboration and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Teams, MS One Note, and BlueBeam Revu.
- Experience with specification editing software is required; familiarity with e-SPECS for Revit is a plus.
