Job Description
This role involves leading the Chicago market for CannonDesign by driving business development, client engagement, team leadership, and strategic growth initiatives, with a focus on Living-Centered Design and achieving financial and market expansion goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop high-performance, diverse teams focused on market growth and client engagement
- Develop and execute the Market Business Plan to drive strategic initiatives and market differentiation
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to achieve top-line growth and market targets
- Engage with clients at high levels to lead project work, foster long-term relationships, and promote innovative solutions
- Enhance the market's brand externally and internally through speaking engagements, writing, and promotional activities
- Collaborate with firm leadership to implement business plan initiatives and ensure profitability goals are met
- Assess, mentor, and recruit staff to build a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive team
- Identify market trends and opportunities for growth, and demonstrate expertise in best practices and evidence-based design
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
- Current Registration Licensure in Architecture, Interior Design or Engineering preferred.
- Must have 12 years minimum experience with a proven track record of strategic growth, market and team leadership, and business development success in the Science and Technology Market.
- Strong presentations skills are essential.
- Exceptional client and people leadership skills required.
- Professional acumen and maturity demonstrated by the ability to communicate authentically and respectfully is essential.
- Strong business acumen and proven ability to create and execute strategy is needed.
- Ability to inspire, motivate and develop high-performing, accountable teams.
- Must be able to demonstrate sound judgement and a sound approach regarding risk management and mitigation.
- Some travel required.

Salary range of $117,000 to $146,300 annually
