Job Description
This role involves leading architectural production teams on large, complex institutional or commercial projects, overseeing technical execution from design through construction, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction, while managing project teams and collaborating across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage technical aspects of large, complex projects from pre-design through completion.
- Coordinate and oversee multidisciplinary project teams, including Project Architects, engineers, and interior designers.
- Develop and implement technical content and quality standards aligned with project goals and client requirements.
- Establish and maintain project schedules, work plans, and budgets in collaboration with project management.
- Identify, communicate, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively.
- Guide the development of project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning, safety, and sustainability standards.
- Lead construction administration activities, including RFI responses and submittal reviews.
- Mentor and train project team members to uphold technical quality and process standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of related architectural experience required.
- Experience includes 5 years in increasingly responsible roles in construction documentation on institutional and/or commercial projects.
- At least 3 years in a responsible role in construction administration on large institutional or commercial projects, with more than 250 million dollars in construction value.
- Previous experience managing production teams of 10 or more on projects of more than 250 million dollars in construction costs.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
- Current Architectural Registration in the United States required.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Demonstrated focus on quality.
- Extensive knowledge of building codes and zoning requirements.
- Exceptional team and client leadership skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong business acumen.
- Extensive technical knowledge.
- Exceptional coordination skills.
- Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
