Job Description

This position involves leading and managing large, complex architectural projects, overseeing technical and production teams, ensuring design and construction quality, and coordinating all phases from design through construction administration to deliver innovative, sustainable, and compliant architectural solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technical aspects of large, complex projects from pre-design through completion.
  • Coordinate and oversee multidisciplinary project teams, including Project Architects, engineers, and interior designers.
  • Develop and implement technical content, quality plans, and documentation strategies for projects.
  • Ensure project documentation, building performance, and sustainable design goals align with client and contractual requirements.
  • Lead compliance with building codes, zoning, and safety regulations, including life safety and energy codes.
  • Coordinate all disciplines to ensure design intent is maintained throughout construction documentation and administration.
  • Manage construction administration tasks, including responding to RFIs and submittals.
  • Mentor and supervise project team members to uphold technical quality and process standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of related architectural experience required.
  • Experience includes 5 years in increasingly responsible roles in construction documentation on institutional and/or commercial projects.
  • At least 3 years in a responsible role in construction administration on large institutional or commercial projects with more than 250 million dollars in construction value.
  • Previous experience managing production teams of 10 or more on projects of more than 250 million dollars in construction costs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
  • Current Architectural Registration in the United States required.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Demonstrated focus on quality.
  • Extensive knowledge of building codes and zoning requirements.
  • Exceptional team and client leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Extensive technical knowledge.
  • Exceptional coordination skills.
  • Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
