Job Description
This role involves managing and designing structured cabling projects, overseeing audiovisual and security scopes, and coordinating with internal teams and clients to ensure successful project execution from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage structured cabling projects from inception to completion, overseeing audiovisual and security scopes
- Lead and manage low-voltage design projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and to client satisfaction
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and milestones, tracking progress throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure project deliverables meet requirements
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and providing exceptional customer service
- Translate client requirements into actionable structured cabling design plans
- Design structured cabling solutions in accordance with industry standards and client specifications
- Create detailed design documentation, including system architecture, space planning, and construction drawings
- Conduct field verification site visits to ensure compliance with design specifications
Requirements
- High School Diploma and or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in designing or managing structured cabling projects required.
- Project Management certification e.g., PMP, CAPM preferred.
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, industry standards e.g., BICSI, NEC, EIA TIA, and building codes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software e.g., ClickUp, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to completion.
- Ability to multitask, manage resources efficiently, and adapt to evolving project requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
