Job Description
This position involves leading and managing interior design projects from concept to completion, providing creative and technical leadership, coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring design quality, code compliance, and project delivery across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and engage with clients and project teams to establish project goals and vision.
- Provide interior design leadership across multiple projects and all project phases.
- Develop and coordinate interior design concepts, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE).
- Evaluate client needs, analyze design objectives, and document spatial requirements.
- Coordinate design work with other disciplines and ensure code compliance.
- Review drawings and support functions to meet project time, budget, and quality constraints.
- Oversee the production of design visualizations and develop project schedules.
- Participate in client meetings, maintain client relationships, and lead communication efforts.
- Mentor less experienced interior design staff and promote design leadership.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits and review of submittals.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
- A minimum of 8 years of related experience required.
- Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
- Ability to provide interior design leadership across multiple projects.
- Strong design, storytelling, and technical skills as well as knowledge of building and life safety codes required.
- Exceptional presentation, organizational, team building, collaboration, and communication skills are a must.
- The ability to build and maintain client relationships is essential.
- Experience leading a high performing team is preferred.
- Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
- Travel as required.
- Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
