This position involves providing high-level electrical engineering design, project leadership, and technical oversight for building construction projects across various sectors, including healthcare, education, and commercial, while managing project execution, client interface, and team mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical engineering systems design for building construction.
Develop project designs, goals, and systems.
Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the engineering team.
Lead or participate in project teamwork planning sessions and engineering meetings.
Serve as project manager or engineering leader, managing project engineering responsibilities and budgets.
Design electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems.
Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications.
Specify electrical equipment and guide less experienced team members in execution.
Conduct quality control checks and serve as an independent reviewer in QAQC processes.
Collaborate with project managers to establish work plans, schedules, and ensure project success.
Participate in value engineering sessions with the architectural engineering team.
Interface with clients and design team members to ensure project requirements are met.
Review and markup shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, and review change orders.
Oversee construction administration, including site visits, construction progress observation, and attending meetings.
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of related experience in electrical engineering.
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.
Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices.
Ability to serve in QAQC process and as an independent reviewer for engineering documents.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong ability to interface effectively with clients and members of the design team.
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools.
