This position involves electrical systems design and project management for building construction projects in various sectors such as healthcare, education, and commercial, requiring independent work, client engagement, and oversight of engineering documentation and site visits.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical engineering systems design for building construction
Develop project designs, goals, and systems
Lead or participate in project teamwork planning sessions
Serve as project manager or engineering leader and conduct engineering meetings
Design lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems
Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications
Guide less experienced team members in drawing execution
Specify electrical equipment
Conduct quality control checks of engineering documents
Participate in value engineering sessions with architectural and engineering teams
Review and markup shop drawings and submittals
Respond to RFIs and review change orders during construction document preparation
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress
Attend and participate in construction meetings
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of related electrical engineering experience.
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.
Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes.
Ability to work independently in all electrical disciplines with no oversight or guidance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be a critical thinker and highly analytical.
Ability to engage effectively with clients.
Fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience with computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools.
