This position involves designing and managing plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for various construction projects, including new builds and renovations, while collaborating with clients and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design and direct plumbing and fire protection systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
Assist with HVAC system design as needed.
Supervise or manage project activities within the mechanical discipline, including monitoring progress and budgets.
Create Revit BIM models of construction drawings for plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems.
Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
Participate in construction meetings and respond to RFIs and change orders.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
Current CPD, PE or FPE license in the United States preferred.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Must possess a working knowledge and experience in engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus, with the ability to acquire higher level knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
