Job Description
Assist in the design and modeling of plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for building projects under supervision, including drafting, reviewing submittals, and performing site visits, within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform uncomplicated designs of piping, controls, and equipment selection for Plumbing Fire Protection systems.
- Assist with HVAC system designs as needed.
- Model construction drawings of plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems using Revit BIM.
- Coordinate with specifications as a member of the design team.
- Draft reports for review by senior engineers.
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
- Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date.
- Knowledge and ability to apply principles and theories of advanced heat transfer, solar energy, and advanced fluid dynamics in the design of plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems.
- Related student internship work experience preferred.
- EIT (Engineer in Training) or LEED accreditation preferred.
- Must have strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects.
