A mechanical design engineer responsible for designing plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for various construction projects, including modeling, specifications, project management, and site visits, within a collaborative and innovative firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design and specify ductwork, piping, and equipment for plumbing and fire protection systems.
Prepare Revit BIM models of construction drawings for plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems.
Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
Coordinate work activities with project team members and participate in meetings.
Respond to RFIs, review change orders, and assist in preparing construction documents.
Requirements
Associate degree in a relevant field required.
Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
Current CPD, PE or FPE certification in the United States preferred.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Must possess a working knowledge and experience in mechanical design, while still acquiring higher level knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus required.
