Job Description
The Medical Equipment Planner leads equipment planning projects for healthcare facilities, providing design guidance, technical specifications, and budget management from inception to completion, collaborating with design and construction teams to ensure efficient equipment selection and reuse strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead equipment planning projects from inception to completion
- Provide equipment listings, layouts, and design guidance
- Develop technical design criteria, specifications, and cost estimates
- Manage project equipment budgets and schedules in collaboration with teams
- Lead departmental user meetings to prioritize equipment selections
- Coordinate decisions on existing-to-reuse equipment, including inventory management and reuse strategies
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in a design, engineering, science research, healthcare, or a supply chain related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of laboratory or medical equipment planning, healthcare planning, biomedical engineering, or other related industry experience.
- Ability to communicate well with clients, consultants, and supervisory personnel.
- Proficiency in reading and coordinating architectural construction documents.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Reader Bluebeam.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
