Job Description
This position involves designing and managing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for various construction projects, including educational, healthcare, and commercial buildings, while collaborating with clients and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
- Prepare Revit BIM models and construction drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Calculate heating and cooling loads and perform energy modeling for system design.
- Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
- Coordinate work activities with project team members and participate in meetings.
- Respond to RFIs, review change orders, and assist in preparing construction documents.
- Research and respond to emergent technical issues related to mechanical systems.
- Supervise or provide project management oversight within the mechanical discipline.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Must possess a working knowledge and experience in engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
