Job Description
This position involves designing and managing HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on various construction and renovation projects in educational, healthcare, and commercial sectors. The role includes project management, site visits, and coordination with clients and team members to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
- Assist with Plumbing and Fire Protection system designs as needed.
- Supervise or provide project management within the mechanical discipline, monitoring progress and budgets.
- Calculate heating and cooling loads, and develop system layouts using energy modeling software.
- Create Revit BIM models of construction drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
- Interface with clients and project team members, attending meetings and responding to RFIs and change orders.
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
- Coordinate work activities on projects with various team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States preferred.
- LEED accreditation preferred.
- Must possess a working knowledge and experience in engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
