Job Description
Assist in the design and modeling of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for building projects under the supervision of a licensed engineer, gaining experience in building load calculations, energy modeling, and construction documentation within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection, under supervision.
- Support plumbing and fire protection system designs as needed.
- Prepare building load calculations and energy models using modeling software under supervision.
- Contribute to Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Coordinate with specifications as part of the design team.
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
- Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date.
- Knowledge and ability to apply principles and theories of advanced heat transfer, solar energy, and advanced fluid dynamics in the design of HVAC systems.
- Related student internship work experience preferred.
- EIT (Engineer in Training) or LEED accreditation preferred.
- Must have strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects.
