Job Description

This position involves supporting the interior design team in all project phases for a large healthcare facility, including design development, documentation, material selection, and presentation, with a focus on interior spaces and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the design team in all project phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
  • Support interior space design development and documentation, including floor plans, elevations, details, and finish plans.
  • Conduct research for product and finish selections and assist in developing finish plans and specifications.
  • Assist in furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specification throughout all phases of interior design work.
  • Prepare presentation materials, including computerized renderings and drawings.
  • Produce drawings and support functions in accordance with project constraints and standards.
  • Assist in selecting and considering building materials such as flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, and furnishings.
  • Maintain and organize interior design library materials and samples as needed.
  • Apply building and life safety codes correctly to interior design work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to assist in all project phases including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration
  • Ability to assist with furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection, layout, and specification throughout all phases of interior design work
  • Ability to produce drawings such as floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, pattern plans, elevations, details, and room finishes
  • Ability to conduct research for product and finish selections and assist in developing finish plans and specifications
  • Familiarity with building and life safety codes and their correct application to Interior Design work
  • Ability to assist in preparing presentation materials and computerized renderings
  • Ability to produce drawings and support functions in conformance with project time, cost, and quality constraints
  • Ability to follow CannonDesign drawing standards
  • Ability to assist in the selection or consideration of building materials such as flooring, wall finishes, ceilings, furnishings, and other interior materials
  • Willingness to maintain and organize the Interior Design library, including updating materials and ordering samples from vendors
  • Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, graphics, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Professional business attire required for client meetings (e.g., suits, ties, collared dress shirts, dresses, skirts)
  • Ability to travel as required
